‘Actively campaigning for public services and jobs.’

About this Role

UNISON is the UK’s leading public services trade union, with over 1.3 million members working in the public sector, private, voluntary and community sectors and in the energy services. We employ approximately 1,200 staff, with around 370 at our national centre in Euston in central London and the remainder in our 12 regions across the UK, including Northern Ireland.

The South East Region is currently recruiting 4 permanent Local Organiser’s to work with our branches to co-ordinate and lead the union’s organising agenda across the region.

UNISON is the UK’s largest trade union with over 1.3 million members, with almost 130,000 in the Greater London Region. Our members are people working in the public services, essential utilities and for private contractors providing public services.

Our public services are under major threat.  But we are actively campaigning for public services and jobs.

The successful candidates will bring their experience and skills in one to one communication, recruitment, organising and campaigning. To undertake this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the Trade Union and Labour movement and UNISON in particular. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a trade union branch or within a similar organisation would also be desirable.
